back in the windy city

I am back in Chicago now, after being in Kentucky for a few days. It was nice to spend so much time with Rebecca in Leitchfield and help her redo her room at her mom's house. I drove down to Nashville on Friday and stayed until Saturday with Michelle and hung out with her and her boyfriend, Josh. They are so good together and he treats her well. I hope it stays all good for her. Back to school tomorrow and elections for the school chapter of the National Kitchen and Bath Association. I am running for vice prez. Wish me luck. Off to bed.

I hate the technology world

It started innocently enough. Edison decided to make a light bulb. Bell came along with the telephone. Then there was a phonograph. Radio. Television. Atari. Nintendo. Sony Playstation. Cell phones. Pagers. PDA. Computers, faxes, scanners, copiers, printers, digital cameras, iPods....it's insane. What I really hate is when something I buy that is electronic refuses to work correctly. I mean, if its a recipe I screw up, I can figure it out, or if I choose the wrong color for a sofa, I can change it. But, if the PC goes haywire or the DVD player stalls, I am balls to the wall for the most part. So, I bought a $300.00 printer after I got out of my Fundamentals of Color class tonight and it has taken me about 6 hours to try to get the damn thing to install correctly. I put the CD into the slot and wait .....and wait......and wait some more until I am fucking blue in the face as it creeps along on this nice Sony Vaio laptop and takes forever. (I am screaming in a soprano now, by the way!!)....So, the printer is on the floor as I have given up until tomorrow...or whenever I have time to try to get it work right again. It's just so frustrating for me. I watched the new episode of my FAVORITE tv show tonight, Nip/Tuck and it was fantastic....perfect the way they are going with it....it just gets darker and darker. Ok, Have to sleep now.......not been in the mood to talk on phone tonight...kept the phone off.....my rebellion to anything electronic.

Weekend

Hillary came to visit from Denver on Thursday afternoon and stayed until Sunday night. We shopped (Aveda, Neiman Marcus, Saks, Fossil, Sephora).....went to Navy Pier and rode the ferris wheel. We took in a one man show starring Leslie Jordan. He is the guy who plays Karen's enemy on "Will and Grace". It was so funny...we never stopped laughing. The best part of the whole weekend was just talking, bonding, and growing even closer. I love you, Hill. Always.
